The search for the chimpanzees takes about 2 – 5 hours inclusive of one hour direct viewing encounter with them. After breakfast, embark on the transfer to Lake Bunyonyi driving through fascinating Kigezi Highlands which locals apply terracing method to cultivate their slopes deriving impressive scenic landscape worth of viewing and photography. Upon arrival at Lake Bunyonyi, you embark on the Island hopping experience. You explore the Bucuranuka (Upside down) Island which is believed to have buried people alive after refusing to offer local brew to an old woman and she cursed the Island turn upside down burying its inhabitants. After your breakfast, take a trip to Uganda’s capital city which starts in the morning at 0830hrs after your breakfast and will take you on a tour of Kampala exploring sites of cultural, historical, religious, political and educational significance. Visit the Bahai temple – the biggest and only religious temple building of its kind in Africa. Baha’i temple is a good site for picnic because of its beautiful picnic scenery rightly placed on a hill that gives you a view of the city. Then the Uganda Museum – a historical feature with lots of colonial, cultural and traditional collections pass by the Makerere University -the first and the oldest university in East Africa. Kasubi tombs – The largest crypt in Africa and special burial place for Uganda kings. Our guide will be pleased to give you a brief and interesting history on the same. With the Namirembe Cathedral – the first and oldest religious feature that was constructed by the European missionaries. Very early in the morning your Uganda safari guide will pick you from the hotel and transfer you to Murchison Falls National Park 311km about 5 hours’ drive. On your way, you will pay a visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – where white rhinos are kept in a natural environment. The next stop-over shall be at either Kabalega diner or Masindi town for your lunch and arrive in the evening at the top of the falls-where the world`s longest river -Nile River, is forced to flow through a 7 meters wide narrow rocky gauge before ferociously plunging down 43 meters. From here you will take a ferry across the river to the northern section for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

To further accelerate this Uganda safari, you will have an early morning game drive towards the northern river bank in search for Cape buffalo, elephants, bohor reed bucks, lions, Rothschild’s giraffes, hyenas, hartebeests, waterbucks, oribi, bushbucks, and if lucky, leopards. Return to the lodge for relaxation till you take your lunch. After lunch, go for a boat cruise to the bottom of Murchison Falls. This boat trip along the Nile is the highlight of a tour to Murchison Falls National Park and is so fascinating. It allows you to have a close and personal interaction with the animals. With over about 4,000 hippos reported to be along this stretch of the river and numerous Nile crocodiles and a birdlife stunning with brightly colored kingfishers and bee-eaters dwelling along the riverbanks you are assured of a great adventure. These beautiful apes-more closely related to humans than to any other living creature, are a great adventure watching as they squabble and jump from tree to tree. This forest is home to over 13 primate species include the red Colobus monkey, bushbabies, the rare L’Hoest monkey, black-faced vervet monkeys, blue monkey, grey mangabey, pottos, plus baboons. Birders have close to 335 species recorded to watch including the endemic Prirogrines ground thrush. Drive from Kampala towards the west and have a stop at the Equator for handicrafts and amazing photos plus demonstrations that justify the geographical separation between the north and the southern hemisphere. After this continue with your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park fronted by the magnificent Rwenzori Mountain range for much of your journey. Once in Queen Elizabeth National Park a game drive in the park is highly rewarding for you will view a range of wild animals including Leopards, the gigantic Elephants, Hogs, Lions, Buffaloes, Duikers, Hyenas,

You drive through the traffic of Kampala and connect to Masaka road on smooth tarmac driving for 77km to make a stop at the Uganda Equator crossing Kayabwe where the world’s main latitude that partitions the world into the northern and the southern hemisphere can be encountered. If you are from Kigali check in at your lodge and relax as you enjoy your lodge depending on your airport arrival time as you drive takes 3hours from the Airport to your lodge.It is a unique geographical site where water experiments can be carried out to justify the geographical divide between the north and the southern hemispheres. Day 2: Briefing about Gorilla trekking and the History of Bwindi impenetrable Forest, southwestern Uganda and after embark on Mountain Gorilla Tracking in the forest , have an evening Batwa / Bakiga Cultural Performance at the lodge.

This is the day that will mark your re-union with your long lost cousins – mountain gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable forest and bonding. You will wake up early for brake fast then drive to the tracking point. You will gather at the respective park headquarters with other tourists for briefing in the morning at 8am where you are also allocated the respective gorilla families to track. From here, you head to the forest in the company of the armed ranger guides that will lead you up the gorillas. The walk is beyond the ordinary as it involves traversing the dense jungle whose thickness would at some points necessitate using a machete to make a path, hiking the challenging landscapes some of which are steep and slippery at times under the canopy of the mature forest which forms darkness even during the day. You are treated to the impressive bird songs and beautiful flowers through the experience. The encounter tends to take 2 – 8 hours depending on the gorilla movements and one hour is availed to you to have a direct touch with the gorillas. Upon approaching gorillas, their reaction is not predictable as it can include them giving you a courteous welcome, minding less about you and charging against you. However, as a result of habituation, Mountain gorillas are always welcoming with the Silver back beating a little of his chest to demonstrate his might and also welcoming to you to the group. The young gorillas are very playful and are at times not aware of the 7m rule thus can try to draw closer to even touching on your body – save it by taking some steps away to observe the distance. You are not limited in any way to ask as many questions about gorillas and their habitats along with taking pictures so long as you have the opportunity to do so. After your one hour with the gorillas, return to the starting point and connect to the lodge for relaxation.
